steviedee
Does anyone have any suggestions for insurance that covers gear and you? I'm playing in the states next week and dunno if yer average travel insurance will work. To all intents and purposes I am an employee of the festival organiser so not sure what insurance I should get.
Guest Jecklin
Speaking from relative ignorance on the matter I would perhaps look into specific insurance. Basic Travel insurance may well have caveats about working abroad, definitely go over the small print with a fine tooth comb to make sure you would be fully covered. The Musicians Union (if you're a member) would be worth a shout to see if they can offer advice.

chris_b
I'm not sure what your employment status is. I've played at lots of festivals here and I've never been employed, in the legal sense, by the organiser. Being hired to play is not the same thing. Do you have a visa that allows you to work or are you on a tourist visa? Insurance companies might not cover you if you're not legal. steviedee
Hi Guys thanks for the replies. Not tourist visas we are 'exceptional aliens' or something! But our employers are stated as the festival organisers. Been a right palaver but hopefully all sorted!
