bris
Have just aquired one of these in lovely gold bullion colour from DV247. However when it eventually arrived from Germany( not Romford) it has 3 highly visible dents on the top. Question is do i refuse or go for a reduction.? DV have offered me 50 quid off. Cameronj279
Would the dents bother you in the long run? If so I'd say refuse and get money back. If the dents wouldn't be an issue to you then I say accept the 50 quid. If you're happy with the bass then no point sending it back.
dannybuoy
Depends how big the dents are, but you should be able to return it at no cost to you... Or bargain with them for £100 or more off. If the dents are that bad, they'd have trouble selling it at £50 under the new price, and once you factor in the void of another courier, they would probably cough up more then that. Same thing happened when I had a freezer delivered which had a scratch. Told them £50 was not acceptable and I wanted a new one, ended up with £100 off after some haggling! MacDaddy
Pics would help. Are they noticeable or in a place a regularly gigged bass would have them? Autocorrect changed gigged to hugged lol.
White Cloud
Tough one this. I had a similar situation with a Lakland 5501 that arrived with several bashes via mail order. Because it was a relatively inexpensive I took it on the chin after the company agreed to give me a discount and send me a luxury gig bag and a couple of sets of strings. I could live with it under these circumstances. Your position is slightly different - the Gibby must have been expensive.

Bassassin
I wouldn't accept that on a brand-new, £700 bass. Not for a poxy £50 off. Jon.
Number6
I prefer to put my own dents in my basses and mostly try to avoid it all together. Send it back imo.
ezbass
£50 seems a bit paltry, £100 would seem more acceptable. Ask for more (if you're ok with the dents that is) as they'll have to discount it heavily to sell it on and pay for more postage to have it returned and then sent out again. bris
Thanks chaps ive sent them a counter offer of 150 quid off, lets see how it goes. Incidently it makes a great noise those coil taps are really brutal.
3below
Good call with counter offer. For a bass of that price even with the suggested reduction they seem pretty big dents. Good luck.
stu_g
they should offer a better discount because if you ever sell it you will have to take a hit!i think i would want a replacement
inate_hex
You did right to raise it up to £150. A new bass should be pristine. If they don't go for the £150 I would insist on a new bass. I hope you get a decent outcome.
bris
Well I eventually accepted £110 quid off which means thy made no money on the bass, and I got a serious noise machine with a little scratch on it. Result Bris
Happy Jack
Now you just need a suitably tall tale of wild goings-on backstage to explain the dent ...
