bnt Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 That's Marco Minnemann on drums - he's been busy with Mike Keneally too, as reported here. From the comments, it seems that the bassist is Linus Of Hollywood - who isn't really known as a bassist. Quote
DirkThrust Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Interesting looking bass He's playing. It looks like a cross between a Ricky and a Precision Quote
Faithless Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 So, the bassist-one actually's a gu1tard!!! At last, he was doing the whole thing with a pr1ck... umm, sorry, a pick - so, no big applause here... Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Was really curious as to what that bass was. Looks smaller and lighter than a Rik. Also, seems to have tape markers on the back of the neck, just like my reverse neck bass (dots were on bottom). Quote
Bernmeister Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Reminds me of back in the mid nineties when i was in a heavy metal band who were Racer X influenced & we used to play this song in our soundcheck & occasionally live Quote

Dood Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Paul Gilbert is a massive influence, I have met him a cuppla times and I reckon he's one of the nicest blokes! On the subject of vids, here is my good friend Andy James playing Paul's parts on his John Petrucci 7 string. I played in a band with Andy for a number of years, before we moved to new bands. Andy plays with the awesome 'Sacred Mother Tongue'. Check him out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKcXu69VExs Quote

NancyJohnson Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Can I tell you a little Paul Gilbert story? Years ago, mid-nineties maybe, I went to a Billy Sheehan clinic that was being held at a Hall in Fleet, Hampshire with a mate of mine - he was a huge Mr Big fan, me a big Dave Lee Roth fan, so we had common cause. So we're in the bar having a pre-clinic drinky and were in earshot of of a quite obnoxious guy who was Sheehan's manager. Every other word was f2ck or Gilbert. Gilbert was on his way out of Mr Big, as he was drunken f2cking ass who couldn't even tune his guitar because that goddamn f2cker is out of his head most of the time. I was squealing with laughter until I heard him say Mr Big are going to fire Gilbert and get that little prick who did that Mothers Head CD - Richie Kotzen - to play for them. Kotzen was my hero. I think I shrank several inches. Ruined my evening. Bastard. P Quote
