handman
OK could really use some advise, l have been thinking about installing a p bass pick up to my jazz bass, only problem is where to get a pick guard from , any of you guy's know where I could source one from UK based would be best as I'm quite impatient when I get a crazy idea in my head, would really love to buy a Reggie Hamilton jazz bass but as is common , cash flow will not allow this plus the misses would kill me. Matt Turner
You want to install a Precision Bass pickguard onto a Jazz Bass? You know that the pickups are different shapes right? Minimum you would have to cut the P-Bass pickguard. Why not buy the Jazz bass pickguard in the colour you want? I just bought a new Jazz bass pickguard from The Music Trading Company through Amazon. Arrived after 3 days, perfect fit. cheers, Matt
Machines
Would a Mark Hoppus bass pickguard fit? If so try ordering from Fender UK.

Rumple
Isn't there someone on here (apart from Bass Doc) who make bespoke scratchplates?
Rumple
Found them! Here

Rumple
I'm not an expert but if it were me I'd wire in the PBXN with the existing Cap on the tone pot, it will give you a good idea of how the modification has changed the core tone of the bass. If you decide to do a Cap change at the same time PIO ones like this seem to have a slightly nicer tone to them, I have them in a couple of basses.
