It will be nice get away from the bar gigs and playing outside to festival crowds and for me it's going from 4 hours to 1.5. Blue

JTUK
Normally I do...but a change of band has left me at the starting gate somewhat, so I've just told my usual 'promoters/bookers' that I'll have a band ready. I'm still in the game for all of them as they are waiting for promo/sound clips, but my favourite one has gone with a new show.. on the basis of costs and I think they've missed a trick. All the ground work of the last 5-6 yrs is likely to be wasted as the booker has no real experience of this sort of thing and has basically booked most of last years bands. Plus they have booked what they like rather than giving the bill any sort of thought at all. So, in that respect, I'm kind of glad I'm out of it. So, I'm concentrating on other events later in the summer. Over here, there are many Beer Festivals but not enough of them pay decent money. There are also town festivals and they can be ok...depending on who holds the purse strings. Of course, 'charity' bills are they way most go which means they are inundated with bands... but lets not go there.

Chris Sharman
The Badly Stuffed Bears are playing the Sausage and Cider Festivals in both Derbyshire and Leicestershire this year. The Derbyshire one is here; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Derbyshire-Sausage-Cider-Family-Festival/529413730478758?fref=ts (the picture halfway down is our guitarist Henry taken on stage at last years event - music stand not included) The other band I am in - Water for Dogs - are playing the Exile festival in the Derbyshire hills this year for the first time. Both bands are hoping for some more bookings before the year is out.
peteb
The rock covers band is playing the Farmyard Party in Helmsley - a big bikers bash playing to maybe 1,500 to 2,000 people on the main stage. I played there with other bands (when the main stage was actually bigger) and it's always great fun. The originals blues band is playing a handful of blues festivals, including a main stage at Maryport. Bottom of the bill, but still... Lozz196
Yep, we`re playing at The Rebellion Festival in Blackpool in August. Huge punk festival - wisely held indoors to cater for the British weather. 6 stages, 4 days, starts Thu Aug 06, ends Sun Aug 09 (we`re on on the Thu). Can`t wait. neepheid
Nah, nothing doing. Applied to a couple but never heard anything back. They're announcing bands now, so I guess we're out in the cold this year. Still, just recorded some decent demos so hopefully they'll shake free some opportunities.
