Hobbayne
Looking at this for my markbass mini cmd 121 combo. I have a couple of questions. How do you connect it to the combo? What is the dial on the side for? I have only ever used a bass combo amp in my recent years, and technology has moved on.
ambient
The dial is to attenuate the tweeter.
PTB
You connect them using a speakon cable. OBBM on here made mine for me at a very good price. I find it makes quite a difference have both combo & cab and wish I'd bought the cab sooner.
You connect it with strawberry laces. The dial is the talent booster control. I always have mine set to "stun". (you already got the answer, so I felt I had to make up a different one to confuse you )

Muppet
Agree, a very wise investment to pair with a cmd121p. i wouldn't be without one.
Hobbayne
I see this has 2 speakon sockets. Why is this? Sorry to be dumb

Sorry to be dumb
If you have an amp with only one speaker out and want to use two cabs, you can use one cable amp-cab1, and another cable can1-cab2 using the second speakon socket. The sockets are almost-always-but-check-manual-please wired in parallel.

Sorry to be dumb
If you're using the cab with just a head, the second socket is a link to a second cab. They'll most likely be wired in parallel so it doesn't matter which one you use when you connect it as a single extension cab to a combo. EDIT: Beaten to it! I hoped that would be the case. I have been using combos from the very beginning so am not used to plugging things in.
