JJW
These are actually quite cool basses, I have a similar one, it's terrible to play as you could have guessed but I still like to have it. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575090229&toolid=10001&campid=5337531593&customid=&icep_item=371315687534&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229508&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg

BigRedX
These are actually quite cool basses, I have a similar one, it's terrible to play as you could have guessed but I still like to have it.

Slightly lighter than granite, I believe ...
I used to have a four string version that had been defretted by a previous owner. For my purposes it was a vastly superior instrument to the Squier VMJ Fretless that I bought to replace it. The acrylic used might be heavy but the Wesley bass has a smaller body so it doesn't weigh more than your average J-style bass, and the reduced body size made it a lot more comfortable for me to wear. I might have a punt on this if the price doesn't get silly.
lowregisterhead
Nice clear photographs - but why didn't he take 5 minutes to give it a quick clean??
Annoying Twit
BigRedX, did you buy it? BTW: These seem to hold their value well. I don't think they were much more than £100 or so when they were new.
BigRedX
No. Decided that a replacement for the Line6 Shortboard I lost at recent gig is more important.
kodiakblair
My 5'er comes in at just over 12lbs. Not really deadly and I found it played surprisingly well. It was really only bought as a gimmick and at £60 with no scratches I can't complain.
JJW
Same here that's how I ended up with a colourless one.
Annoying Twit
There seem to be quite a few of these coming up at the moment, at reasonable prices. For a while after Wesley stopped selling basses people were asking higher amounts for these than they used to sell for new. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acrylic-Bass-Guitar-Case-/281703738236?hash=item4196d9eb7c
