Your suggestions for a reverb pedal please.

I'm looking for a reverb pedal/unit for use with fretless. I already have a rack type Alesis microverb...it's ok ..but I find it a bit thin and wishy washy in sound...I want a fat, solid substantial sound. I've heard good things about the Hall of Fame pedal.
Can any of my esteemed brethren BC'ers suggest a suitable tool?

I actually really like my Marshall reflector.
It's a great price (they can be found for around £40), and sounds really nice.

I use TC HoF in synth rig. Nice, plenty of variety, plus if you have a computer you can create your own custom patches using the TonePrint editor.

Strymon or Eventide stuff is awesome but a chunk more expensive.

TC Hall of Fame, thing sounds INCREDIBLE, and you can make your own patches.

Absolutely adore mine. Since you can tweak so much, the Mini one is a good option too, as you lose the pedal tweaking, but you have all the same parameters. I have Two HoFs and Two Minis (different uses etc)

And One Flashback and three minis and the flash only loses the mode select, so since I use all my own patches it's perfect!

The Neunaber Wet Reverb is my tied favourite. Look it up and listen, it's absolutely gorgeous. Everything from warm lush thick verb, to hollow cavey sounds, and syrupy or shimmer, all done beautifully. Love it!

My fave reverb to date is the Mr Black Eterna, however thats a Shimmer reverb, at extreme settings it sounds like a choir, beautiful pedal.
That is, understandably, possibly a bit more specialised than you're after, so I would definitely recommend the TC stuff (either the HoF or HoF Mini), they also have their new Trinity 2 out, which has a ton of reverbs on it.
Must give a shout out also to the Marshall Reflector, discontinued now, but probably still the cheapest of the above, sounds great and has a few different reverbs on it.

That's what I have, it's in my chain. I haven't figured out what songs or where I would use it yet. It'll come in handy at some point, I know it sounds good. I also use TCs dedicated delay pedal.

Maybe a Boss RV5 for the modulation setting? I've owned a couple of thoseand regretted selling them afterwards both times.It was only the purchase of a Hardwire Supernatural which stopped me from missing the RV5. I use the supernatural on my guitar board but I do put my musicman silhouette baritone/bass guitar through it and it sounds brilliant. apart from a spring and plate it has some really great ethereal ambient shimmer type settings.

Tc electronics hof is a great pedal. I don't have one myself as I don't use reverb but my guitarist has one and Ive tried it.. It sounds great and convinced me to go for the corona chorus due to build quality and the toneprint stuff.. Reasonably priced as well. Also love the footswitches tc use. Absolutely silent!

Yeah, the HOF is great! And extremely versatile too (especially if you also count in the Tonerint editor). I also quite like the Silver Spring Reverb from the Mad Professor, but it's less flexible and really has one type of reverb only (but if you like that particular one, you're all set). dub, have you looked at the older rv3 ?...... try it , its so much better than the 5,imho

I have the TC Hall of Fame, but the one for me is a boss RV3 which is reverb and d. delay.
if you can find one, its so much more than the hof,
works fantastic for bass, no loss of volume or tone, the bottom end is still there,
and not muddy, clear as a bell
it has D,Delay as well, you can use just the reverbs or just the D.Delays or both together.
also these are not just presets, well they are but are very controlable
you can also use it on vocals in the studio, keys, guitar, or on anything really.

Boss dont do this now and was only made for a short time from 94 to 2002, they pref selling you two pedles now !
guitarists love them and very rarely let them go hence not many around, but it has been overlooked by
bass players,
recorded with fretless bass its pure bliss, and sounds as good as anything i have heard on cd,
loads of reviews if you google it
Worth a try if you find one you wont be sorry. and hay if you dont like it ... sell it to me, ...but i bet you keep it,

I have been looking for a reverb that for a while. I want something that I can use for bass and lead guitar so I went to PMT last week in the hope of trying a HOF. They didn't have one and I noticed the Bluesky, which was much smaller than I expected so I gave it a try. I couldn't stop playing it-loved it

I went back and did a trade deal on one yesterday morning. Since then I have been trying it with fretless bass, electric guitar and even my electro acoustic. It is useful for all three although I wouldn't use it excessively on the electro acoustic. It's great for soundscapes and more traditional sounds.

The winning qualities are the variety of sounds, the control parameters, the quality of sounds and the fact that you can store a favourite. That means if your playing live you can have a couple of your favourite options ready without having to fiddle with settings.

I've have been using it in a small pedal chain with compression and a tremolo and have never had so much fun with a new pedal. I have it set up for a typical room reverb sound and a "favourite" option that "shimmers" and sustains for ever.

A bit pricey but very usable so worth it if you want to explore reverb to its full potential.

The Bluesky is amazing though, but very expensive.

If money or size is no object, then get the Strymon Big Sky, there's nothing touching that thing at all, stunning sounds.
However I imagine real-estate and money IS a factor, and so I'd still go HOF or anything Mr Black

Dispatch master also has Delay and reverb on it.... great pedal!
