disssa
I like the SMX preamp. A lot of sound variations are possible.
Pigman
I had to put up my refreshed picture with the Elf addition and added wall art to match
Deedee
I acquired this lovely MkV a few months back. It's been with the tech for what seems like an age but I finally got it back last week. Other than a few scratches in the tolex on top of the case it really is in superb condition.
Deedee
And just to update a picture I posted a few months back which had a couple of generations missing, here's the collection covering the Trace era from the mid 80's to mid 90's, along with the baby Elf thrown in/on for good measure!
TheGreek
@Deedee, You should be given some sort of award for your services to mankind for saving those beauties.. Also a sure deterrent to any would be noisy neighbours who want to "come and have a go"..

About 20 years ago I lived next door to a noisy PIA. I must admit if I’d had one of these and my Four10 back then I’d have had lots of fun. 😂
BassManGraham
Here's some Green (& Silver) Tracey goodness. Always loved the Trace tone since early 80s, when I could not afford one. I have now overcompensated these last couple of years as part if my mission (obsession?) To rescue and rehouse some classic heads. The AH300-12 and Silver Valve preamp are my joint favourites, followed closely by the GP12 SMX. On the lookout for a AH500-12!

Secondly you've obviously heard my playing then!

I'm talking old school green break-your-back stuff like this bad boy: And this, my 1984 1110 combo. Serial no. 002. So old that it has toggle switches like a 60s car. Sounds great though: Combo, two heads, 4x10 and 2 x 1x15
VTypeV4
I acquired this lovely little lot the other day: AH300 SMX, 4x8 and matching 1x15. Ultra compact cabs labelled as V-type extension - presumably for the 4808 and 115 V-type combos. I've had lots of trace rarities over the years (including a 4808 combo) but never seen either of these in the flesh before. It sounds superb! 😀 The little 8" drivers are Celestion BG8-60 units as found in the 4808 combo and early SWR Henry 8x8 cabs. They certainly punch well above their size might suggest - a lovely driver. The 15" is slightly less glamorous loaded with the C15H which is a custom version of the Celestion K series. They were in the 1153 and the 250 / 300w combos - a great sounding 15 despite only a modest spec. As a size reference, notice how big the Squier Jazz seems in the top pic and the horizontal format 400SMX / 2103H / 1153 in the lower one.. I've dubbed it the 'mighty mini rig'.. 😊
