Tonywhite985 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Had my V4 for just under 2 years now, performs flawlessly every time it gets switched on and even though it's super heavy it sounds all the much better for it. I couldn't ask for a better Bass Head and would use it over any other Amplifier I've tried so far. Apologies for poor picture quality. got more pictures of it on my photobucket: http://s1332.photobucket.com/user/Tonywhite985/profile/ [sharedmedia=core:attachments:133203] Edited March 1, 2015 by Tonywhite985 Quote
VTypeV4 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I did a bit of an A/B with the Twin Valve this week and I love both of them so they're both keepers.. I love the traditional GP7 and 12-band SMX graphic Trace amps but there really is something special about the valve models. Quote
VTypeV4 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Just need a V8 and we've got the same! I commentedd previously that the head versions of the TV have a balanced direct out however mine (and a number of others I've seen) don't. Quote

jakhotta Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Hi, I'm relatively new to the forum and just wanted to add my newly completed rig to the list. AH250 series V head with 1048 (no tolex or carpet- just painted black) and 1518T green carpet. The 1048 has been refitted with newer celestion drivers (I've not checked which type yet)- it was thrown into a deal with the AH250 which is in really good nick. I'm considering either a repaint/re-tolex or re-carpet at some point put will start a new thread for that job! The green 1518T was a really good deal and acquired from a fellow basschatter - it sounds ace as part of a stack or its own. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:187113] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:187114] I'm loving all this Trace porn- keep it coming! Quote
VTypeV4 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Loving that old 250! I've never tried one but I did have a dabble on a 350X once and that was a monster too.. Quote
jakhotta Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Thanks fella, it's my first Trace rig and I've not even opened it up volume wise yet- can't wait to give it a full shake down and get a decent EQ dialed in. I'd just like to say that V4 head of yours is a thing of beauty, I imagine it sounds amazing played though anything! That goes for the other gear on here too- beautiful! Quote

7tenths Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) Someone was looking for a TE logo, can't find the thread now, anyway see link below if you want a couple of TE logos, one 'old-school' and one modern'ish ;-) There are 240 dpi & 300 dpi so will print hi-res at full size. Easy to get stickers printed and then stick those to 'plasticard' and remount missing badges etc etc. http://1drv.ms/1HnK7qP Edited March 23, 2015 by 7tenths Quote
7tenths Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 On a related note, I've just picked up a late model 2103 & 1153 (I know it doesn't exist without photos, I'll get some up later). Got both cabs for £100. I can remember our bass player offering to help me pack the kit away (drums) years ago if I would help him with his bass gear, no probs I thought...until I tried to maneuver his, what looked like, compact 2x10 cab....had the mass of a red-dwarf ! The tone however was lovely Quote
Muziekschuur Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Anyone here owns a 8x10 combo called 810C Quote
Deedee Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hi all Grabbed the bargain of the century yesterday (well, apart from those cabs in the previous post above picked up for £100). A 1215SMX just in need of a good wipe over with a damp cloth for £149 and this was from a store! It sounds absolutely superb, everything works and even the green knob cap (that was missing in the photographs posted in the stores ad) turned up wedged between the amp and the cabinet. Now I think I've got all eventualities covered so I'd better refrain from any further SMX based purchases. Quote

VTypeV4 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'd have another SMX if the opportunity arose.. I reckon the 400 / 350 is the pick of the bunch Quote
uk_lefty Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 my traces are a GP7 7215 combo with a 2103H extension cab. I'm not looking to sell, but does anyone have an idea of value on these? Curious to see how good a deal I got. They're in mint condition, with the green back lighting on the combo still working. I also now have an MIJ P Bass so really itching to get hooked up with a decent band again and let rip! Thanks Quote

There are so many bargains being picked up at the moment. Most people who are Trace nuts would agree that the old skool stuff is always a bargain, as to those who love this gear it's top quality kit at cheap as chips prices so therefore incredible value for money. To other people it's old, heavy and very unfasionable and therefore of very little worth. As my old dad used to say, it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. Quote
Deedee Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) As shown in my recent thread in the Amps and Cabs section, my collection of 250SMX's in various guises. All essentially the same amp from the same era, but the top one has a fan and the others have heat sinks. Lovely Edited September 23, 2019 by Deedee missing photo added again following site upgrade Quote
W1_Pro Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015
This is all that's left of mine...got blagged from rehearsal space years ago. Thieving bastards. GP11 AH250 with an 8x10 cab loaded with Fanes, the whole thing was flight cased and weighed more than the bus, but what a sound.
Awesome. Quote
steve-soar Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 That was the rig to die for, back in the day. Amazing. If you had a AH 500.....you were God. Quote
