Has anyone on here got any leads on where or if the old Green Grill Matreial Trace used on the matching V series cabs can be obtained. Trace can't help.

I have managed to get a very sorry looking 8x10 cab that went with the V6 V4 heads only problem is it didn't have thew grill. Would like it to match the material on the front of the V6 i have Green carpeted version.

The steel grill would do i suppose but again i have a feeling these are rare.

Pm me if ayone knows anything of use!

Can't have enough Trace Elliot gear - I've actually got another head which was at the drummer's studio when this pic was taken.

Hi fellow Trace Elliot enthusiasts,

I recently bought a BLX combo (had one some time ago and missed the sound of it).
The fan is really loud, have any of you had that problem and fixed it?

BLX 130

I just recently traded away a lovely BLX 130, 'suppose it doesn't do any harm posting it here :)

I already regret letting it go but I needed more wattage and couldn't keep both amps.

My little piece of TE goodness, in the background and also opened up for a clean:

The V8's been in my posession for the last 12 years and, if I have anything to do with it, will be buried with me :) Now retired from gigging duties, given its increasing rarity combined with the utter lack of respect that people seem to show your gear when you're gigging with a rock band.

Used to also own a GP12SMX - fun times with that thing, living in a fourth floor flat, shared with the drummer. Getting to gigs was *fun*...

This is the one accessory that I would strongly recommend to all fellow Trace Elliot owners... http://www.screwfix.com/p/folding-platform-truck/68443

Not the greatest picture, but this is my GP12 SMX married to a pair of SWR speakers, a Goliath 4x10 and Big Ben 1x18. Having had a certain bass sound in my head for years, it came as a bit of an epiphany when I got a BLX combo for free earlier this year. I'd always had Trace stuff pigeon holed as being for slap players, and was gobsmacked when I found it can deliver that punchy sound I'd been looking for. Still love my valve and acoustic amps, but they are for different horses for different courses.

You're still liking the Head then?!
[/quote]

Absolutely :-)

Although it's so loud I can barely get the output level past "1" while practising at home with it!

Here an odd combo I tried one night, sounded stonking though! V6 and Acoustic 402 and Wal Mk1

My rig from the other night. 1X15" underneath and a pint of mild to top it off.

Impressive! some real 80's memories stirring themselves here.

I seem to remember being "issued" with a black, bare wood finish TE 8x10 combo(!) from a hire co (think it was John Henrys) for a tour in '87.
Looked monstrous, shame nobody could see it at the shows though coz the production didn't allow any backline on stage.
So the poor thing sat in the wing next to a massive side-fill, which made it pretty much redundant!
I've never seen one since.

Wondering now if this might be the aging Hippytone mind playing tricks on me...

One of these, perhaps?
This peeked my interest as I seem to remember seeing a TE 8x10 combo at the old Bass Centre (Wapping) many moons ago. Seems amazing to think that this big lump was rated at just 250 watts. (Mind you we are talking TE watts! ;) )
