Did you ever play all of them at once? Full power? :gas:

the output transistors (mosfets) have just packed up on my SMX GP12 AH250, been quoted £135 does that sound reasonable?

Sounds steep to me. I had one fully serviced and repaired (don't ask me what) for about £40. Tech is retired though and just does it as a favour to other musicians - shops will have a different attitude I suspect.

Just how weighty? That set-up looks like a permanent fixture. I hope you're on the ground floor...

As far as google is concerned, around 43kg for the combo, and Mick knows how much that 1x15 wedge weighs  :)

About 20kg Mick ??

Funny - i dont live on the ground floor ( 2nd floor apartment ) but we do have a lift.  Bonus !

If this is any kind of gauge for you,  the two switches on my combo, the shape and graphic, needed replacing.  Apparently they do give up the ghost on TE amps

I also wanted to keep the original  TE green switch buttons , but transferring them to the new switches behind the buttons was a right faff, but the tech managed it in the end. He also did a service and PAT test. This all cost me about £100.  He wasn't a friend - this is his business

But the TE combo is singing nicely

About 63kg with that 1 x 15 i got off the Greek. Jeeez, i just broke into a sweat describing it...

But is it WORTH it? I'd gladly risk another hernia if the amazeballs/weight ratio was favourable...

Must admit, i do love the sound.  Personal i suppose, some hate it.

But since our band quit after 6 years, and now i;m just home recording with a gitwrist, it sits in my spare bedroom when i fancy a pluck  ( matron )

Mmm yes, but from what I've read on this forum, and by who posted it, I suspect I'd likely be a fan... being a clean heft aficionado, the TE philosophy could suit me well. Something tells me Trace will be part of my life in 2018... *taps finger on side of nose*
