You can get old TE's to growl as well, you know. Just kick it in the nuts and watch that ' clean '  disappear

I do like 'clean', though. 'Growl' is a nice option, of course. I look forward to becoming immersed in Traceworld.

I've always followed the phiisolop -  filopsosoy

thought that you can always dirty up clean but hard to clean up dirty.  Another ' matron ' moment  :)

Gah. It beats the Mesa. Except for the HORRIBLE pre-shape circuit which I named "suckmode".

I'm going to use that as I've struggled for some time to adequately describe preshape buttons on amps. "Suckmode."  Genius!

Holy mother of God! You can't possibly need all three! Can I have the V4, please?

Should I ever sell one of these amps, then all at once. That would be a unique opportunity, but certainly not cheap.

My V-Types:

Just wow!

I have a V6 myself but haven't used it because it only works on 2 or 4 ohms and I stupidly downsized to a single 8 ohm cab... I would love to see and listen to a V4 or V6 in person.

My current lovely pair.  A 1993 AH250 GP12 SMX and it’s earlier cousin, a mid-eighties MkIV AH250 GP11

The latest addition, a '96 AH280 GP12SMX paired with a separate Trace UV module, all in a lightweight shallow 3U case.  Took some head scratching and faffing about but it was worth it.

I remember seeing this in guitarist or bassist mag. You made a comment that a band member [guitarist?] complained about your 12 string bass so you played it all night on your last gig for spite.  It always makes me laugh when I think about it.

We are better mates now that we don't play together. He had triggers on his drums and I played his drums for him, apparently.... :)
