KevB
From a couple of years back, I stopped hauling the 4X10 around and usually use a SWR 2X10 in its place now.
I used to play it now and again in the band I was in at the time, added a bit of keyboardy touches here and there. Can be tiring if you use it frequently as you end up standing on one leg a lot! Might blow the dust off them and give them a whirl in my next venture once I'm settled into the line-up. If you think that looks scary try doing a search on Youtube for the Footar!
geilerbass
Just got a new digital camera... so I can finally contribute to this thread! My little piece of green and black goodness...
JimBobTTD
I'd like to play too. Here are my very heavy Trace cabs. They really are very, very heavy and, because of this, it is likely that their days are numbered. This saddens me a little, as, with the exception of two times (both within the last month), I've never played through anything other than Trace cabs. We'll see. If my band starts gigging a lot and these need to be moved around a lot, some downsizing will have to happen! I can't even lift these by myself, let alone carry them. They do sound wonderful, though! I need to sort some new ones out! originalfunster
Does this qualify??? And how do I get the picture full screen rather than thumbnail size like the rest of you? Kiwi
the degree to which its thumbnailed depends on the screen real estate of the person viewing the image and whether you've linked the image or attached it. All attached images are thumbnailed. Linked images are thumbnailed if they're bigger than the size of the window they're being viewed in. overwater#1
Ahh finally had some time to get a new pic of the Tracey gear! I love the older Trace Elliot gear, something about it just seems fantastic and really attractive! Awesome sound, tone, solid, reliable, good looking....everything, superb gear!! So yeah.. theres.... -AH400SMX head (Best head i've tried!) -1048 cab -1153 cab -MKV GP11 head (which i'm doing some repair work on, belonged to a very kind fellow BC'er) -Very early GP11 1x15 combo -Rare V-type 5001 (4x8) combo (latest edition to the line-up...awesome combo!) Enjoy!! Edited November 3, 2008 by overwater#
Stingray5
Nice little TE collection there. Especially the 4x8 combo. V. rare! What's the power rating of that? The GP12 SMX pre-amp does it every time for me too!
overwater#1
Oh yeah, the SMX Pre is superb!! I've only just bought the V-type from here, off Merton... Its rated at about 290W@4ohm rms, sounds immense, awesome tone!!!!!!
Merton
The V-Type looks so small and dinky in comparison to the older bits! Wish it was as light
overwater#1
haha! Yeah doesn't it just!! It's reasonably light, I haven't found it to be too awkward..well, it may be heavy, but it ain't cumbersome like the 4x10 cab is to carry. It's an awesome awesome piece of kit, im truly over t'moon with it!! Hey, say, it would look good with the matching 4x8 under it wouldn't it!!! MacDaddy
What you should be seeing here (bottom left) is my former Trace combo. 1X15 500w which had the felt covering (can't remember the model no off-hand). This pic is from 2002. Once I'd sorted out the correct fuses ( ) this amp never let me me down, was versatile, and always loud enough even when not going through the PA. The only drawback was that it was heavy. I still miss it though

SS73
Bit more Green stuff, well quite a bit actually. When there's enough room on stage the Rick gets to go through both the V8 and the Twin Valve rigs. Ah150 GP7 was bought new by me in 82 and has never let me down and really is just an amazing amp. 410 is actually a Hartley Thompson design prototype with Trace speakers.
Cheers, yep its just awesome and really makes a very large n wide sound, I think because its just such a quality amp that it really cuts through and actually you don't need to turn up so much as my other amps to be heard as a separate instument in the band. Can't wait for a big venue when I can get the volume control off position 1.
