The Cabinet is currently for sale if anyone is interested let me know.

Would it be too over the top to have a single dedicated Trace V8 porn thread just for these full bodied babes? they're so unique?

Hey there Guys,
Not quite as mean and green as yours but here's my old bass rig that had to go due to it's weight and me not having the room. I know it was a series 6, 150w I think and that's a 2x10 + horn with a 150w 15" beneath. Poor old girl got Ebayed aswell. :)

At the time ( I was about 20) The guitarist had a 150w Marshall Valvestate combo and a 4x12 Marshall Cab + a highwatt 4x12 Cab!! Neither of us went through the pa which could barely just get my screaming vocals over the top! God damn those were the days!
Just for comedy value I'll share this too........

Snigger!

I bought a GP7SM130 Combo last year, can't beat the sound of a tracey!

This is my old rig.
I sold it after i foolishly let a support band's bassist use it and he literally put all of the equalisers at 0 and then bypassed the graphic anyway.
I then struggled with my tone for the gig and was disheartened with the situation and flogged it.
Bit more Green stuff, well quite a bit actually. When there's enough room on stage the Rick gets to go through both the V8 and the Twin Valve rigs. Ah150 GP7 was bought new by me in 82 and has never let me down and really is just an amazing amp. 410 is actually a Hartley Thompson design prototype with Trace speakers.
WOW :)
A slot head eb3!! I love those basses, i tried to buy one recently from a guy in the states but he would,t ship it over here
Nice gear too, i've just gone back to using trace gear after trying loads of other stuff, you can't beat it.

They are just a great version of the EB, nice in a way they didn't make to many. Such a shame the guy would'nt ship!, I've just come back from the states with an empty seat next to me ( you prob didn't need to hear that though). Now the US dollar has gone crazy, I think its all over for getting great stuff cheap over there.
Trace gear ''rocks'', I just love it.

Glad you've seen the (green) light! :)
Welcome back to the club...

Hey, bassmankev, I just spotted you also have an old VestaFire pedal and was curious as to what model it is?
I've had their MDX (Digital Delay with Modulation) pedal since about the mid-80's.
Aside from having to replace the switch a few years back, it's still going strong.

Yeh, build quality is good on these babies (i.e. - not plastic! :) )
The MDX controls (Delay Range [2 - 512 ms pre-sets], Depth, Feedback, Multi, Rate and Effect Mix) allow for a huge range of sounds including chorus, phase and flange as well as delay of course. A bit of experimentation is needed to find what you want but it's good fun and works well in most situations.
Sorry about the naff pic. I just did a quick search online and it was the only one I could find.

I see you have one of the Hudson 5-stringers. What's that like? They seem pretty decent, especially for the price. (I note in your sig, you say it's like a Curbow).
Nice rig, by the way.

Well, I got mine of ebay for £350 and they seem to retail elsewhere for £650. Only once i got it i could tell it was B-stock (few stains, sorted most of it out though), but it plays beautifully and looks quite lovely as well, I was proud of myself for fetching that bargain . And yeah they are exactly the same as Cort Curbow Elites- i mean literally same everything apart from perhaps pickups, probably even built in the same factory.

But yeah lovely bass, i recommend it. Now i'm looking to get a Ibanez BTB 676 NT (yum yum)

Cheers

Very nice! Some great green loud stuff there  Always preferred the SMX head to the later GP12 preamp that came about just before the Gibson takeover. But I only ever owned a GP12 head (pre-Gibson by 1 month...). One day I will own a Series 6 and an early SMX head. I hope

I see you have V-type amplification... does that include a V8 head? I really wanna get one some day and then get some Geddy Lee on the go,( Not just for that i bet they sound amazing).

And i know my amp is lovely! I only wish it was a AH-600 or 1000 instead of 300.

Nah, I have a V-Type 1x15 combo, one of the first type they did (pre-carpet, 250W rather than 300W power amp). Used to have a 4x8 combo as well but I sold it to Matt (pverwater#1 on here) about 2 months ago. Also used to have the V-Type 300H head, and the aforementioned AH300-12 and various cabs...!

My wish list includes the SMX AH-600, a series 6 head and the mighty V6 head like the one being sold on here at the moment. One day....

Hey Merton,

I'll let you know if I ever sell my AH600, but honestly I can't see it happening. The only things I'll have left after I sell that are my basses...

To be honest though, you'd probably be better off getting an SMX pre and a nice lightweight poweramp. The AH600 is an absolute beast. It's heavier than my Peavey 2x10 :)

Haha! Didn't realise it was quite that heavy! :)

This is all very much my dreams for the future, it'll be a cold day in hell before I can afford to buy more amps at the moment!

Hi guys i'm new to this site, joind today after finding an ah1000 picie on a google search, and i have to say there are some great TE's on here. I have an RAH1000 With the matching BFC cab. i also have the old 8x10" too. I've just had my amp serviced and the guys in essex have told me that this RAH1000 was a prototype and the designers have said that it shouldn't have really been released! does anyone out there know any more info on this model of TE? I'd love to find others with this amp as i'm sterting to think i may be the only person that still has a working one! :) Anyhoo i love TE amps and i don't think i'd ever use anything else.
