Roberts basses?

Anybody heard of these? Been offered one in a trade (a 5 string Warwick Corvette copy) and can't seem to find much information about them. Looks nice but opinions on them are difficult to find, I assume it's these guys:

Trade value on it is £250, I expect it to be a decent bass but also remember one selling on eBay for less than that not so long ago - may be the same bass as I've never seen another. Another £100 gets me a Sire MM so I'm hesitant tbh, anybody got experience of them, particularly what the low B is like?

I've not tried one so I can't actually be of any help but I think with the great reviews the Sire basses have been getting I'd be going for one of them.

That was my thinking too, think I might give it a miss. I don't really want to gamble on something that might have a floppy low B.

I had some Robert strings. They were terrible, I took them off after an hour.

Well the guy is a UK based builder, however the hardware and pickup look generic so I'm guessing not a top of the line model. Neck construction looks nice though as does the woodwork in general, at least what I can make out from the pictures.

Decided to pass on it, nice looking bass but too many unknowns and not much resale value if I don't like it. Pretty sure I saw one on eBay go for well under £200 too.....
