Refinishing a bridge?

Has anyone ever had hardware refinished?

The gold finish on my Aria's bridge has totally faded on the base and is cracked/bubbled/flaking on the saddles.

Anyone know what options I have?

Change the rest of the hardware to chrome? ;)

Nooooooooo....
The bass should have gold hardware, I would go for black like the Black & Gold SB.
The whole bass will be refinished in gloss black eventually...

Simon Farmer at GUS Guitars often has to finish parts of his guitars in chrome or gold. Give him a shout and see if he's got any gold stuff in the pipeline that he can add your bridge to.

The problem with 3rd party bridges is that the Aria one is a high mass brass one. The base plate is about 10mm thick (just measured it), so I'd have to shim it.

There's a couple of electroplaters and powdercoaters fairly close to me, so I'll be flinging off some emails.

I've also emailed Aria as they used this style of bridge on the recent Black n Gold Cliff Burton reissue.
