Freddy Le Cragg Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 NGD - EKO Acoustic A righty that had been leftied at some point. I prised the nut off, after which it basically shattered into 3 pieces so I glued it back together. I managed to get the old glue scraped off without damaging the wood below it and stuck the rebuilt nut back on. I strung it up and tuned to pitch. The first 5 frets were fine but above that there was a lot of buzzing. Off came the strings and a shim or two under the steel bridge and Bob's your aunties live in lover. Its a cracking sounding thing. The zero fret and the metal bridge give it a trebley zingy tone and it plays smooth and quick all up the neck. There are a few bits of damage on the top but nothing terminal. Best of all, it was only £15. Pics
Weststarx Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Any guitar for £15 is worth it hahaha Looks like it should be in a museum!
skankdelvar Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nice box, Sir. Long may you enjoy it. As an aside, it should be noted that the Italians are crazy for old Italian guitars. The weirdest sh*t goes for bundles on the Italian ebay - metallic finish Meazzis for £700-800!
Chiliwailer Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015
Is it E.K.O or Echo?
We called them 'echo' when I was in the trade. Or, 'you know, those cool looking Italian ones...'
