blamelouis
Need two batteries for my Marcus Miller jazz and was wondering if any basschatters have any preferences regarding longevity and value for money. Any bargains out there ?
chris_b
I put Duracell in my Lakland. I usually have the Lakland volume low and the volume on the amp high. A battery lasts over a year.
casapete
I've always used Duracell Procells in my basses, never ever had any problems. These have now been replaced with the yellow and black Duracell 'Industrial' range, again still good. Have a dig around on ebay and you can find 10 packs of them for around £8 delivered, job done. tauzero
Procells for me.
JTUK
Duracell.... they last a year or so, but I generally change them when I think they've done a decent stint so 6 months or so.

Qlank
Rechargable in everything for me.
anDy LAKIN
i would also say go for rechargeable. they don't last as long per one charge as the equivalent but you save lots of money and hassle in the long run.
Cameronj279
Duracells for me too. No issues with them since I've been playing bass.

Maude
Rechargeable for me. Guitarist argued with me that they don't last as long. I know that but you can, erm, recharge them.
Rich
Everything that uses PP3s gets a Procell (or whatever they're called now) fitted. In the past I've had upwards of two years out of them in my Shuker. Now I change them in all my active basses every year whether they need it or not. Dad3353
Rechargeables. It's not much influence on world ecology, I know, but drop by drop, an ocean is filled. My recharger is a small solar panel, too. It's been decades since I last bought (or threw out...) a battery.

anDy LAKIN
i would also like to add that if you have a loose pp3 battery in your bag it is a very good idea to a bit of non insulating tape over the ends as there is a small chance they could come into contact with metal and may cause a small fire or damage to stuff

Putting insulating tape over the terminals would be more advisable than using the suggested 'non insulting'. Right, someone elses turn to wear the PT hat. Would that be like a zen chill-out cassette..? Are you suffering from insolation..? It's not insulting to insulate oneself from the run of the forum. A terminal post, maybe; short, at least. I'm shocked.

After soundcheck we go to find some place to have dinner and during the meal I notice a discomfort in my pants... and I jump out yelling! The battery made the coins in my pocket extremely warm!!! Fortunately I avoided a case of roasted nuts... So, yes... be careful how you store them!

miles'tone
My P bass came with passive batteries which must be the best ever as they last for AGES. 5 years old now and never had to change them yet! 😯 Edited May 11, 2015 by miles'tone
