What's the history on Status Graphite model names?

There are so many different models, series I, II, 2, Empathy, etc... How do they relate to each other?
I don't see a huge difference between a series 1 and an Empathy, for example...
Anyone? :-)

I think 'Empathy' was chosen after Status requested folk send in suggestions for a name.
