Freddie75
Hi all, Has anybody on here upgraded the stock drivers in the fender rumble combos and were the results any good? I have the v3 500 combo and have read this upgrade makes a big difference. Also, do these drivers slot straight in or would any mods to cab need to be made? Thanks Freddie Edited May 14, 2015 by Freddie75
Mykesbass
Do they do 16 ohm versions?
Freddie75
Good point, can't see that they do. To add 2 8ohm drivers making the cab 4ohm I'm assuming would require some mods to the bracing of the cab? Thanks Freddie

RandomBass
If they make them in 4 ohm then you can wire them in series. If they are just 8 ohm only then wire them in parallel for a 4 ohm total impedance. You wont be able to use an extension cab after that. I doubt extra bracing will be required. I'm sure the experts will be able to advise here. Cheers Geoff
Freddie75
Thanks for advice this far guys. I just assumed that if changing to 4ohm which would then draw full power from the amp it might need some kind of mod to bracing. I'll shut up now - obviously a novice at this! :-)
