sifi2112
Let us know how you get on Andy ... I like the idea of added 'grit' but no room on my board (except for the recently acquired Duamknd comp) ... congrats !
Bass Pedal Geek
Yeah, congrats on that one! I have never tried one but it sits very high on my GAS list. Especially interested to learn the (probably subtle) differences in tone between the various transformer versions.
0175westwood29
i plan on doing a review as there doesnt seem to be one of this pedal done with a bass. andy
Kev
Interested in hearing it! Why is the footprint so big, out of pure ignorant curiosity?
JapanAxe
i plan on doing a review as there doesnt seem to be one of this pedal done with a bass. andy
I use mine on one of my guitar pedalboards: However I did use it for an online Motown demo, through the preamp of a Streamliner.
Why is the footprint so big, out of pure ignorant curiosity?
Because there is a mahoosive circuit board inside. The audio circuit is all discrete components (i.e. no ICs) and is based on the Urei 1176, which was a biggish rack-mount unit. (The ICs you can see are there to drive the LED ladder.) Having the knobs so big makes it much easier to set up accurately than, say, the MXR Bass Compressor. krispn
I got the CaLi 76-G comp yesterday - its such a good sounding circuit and that germanium does add a really nice bit of filth. Very happy and looking forward to gigging it this Sunday. Edited July 7, 2015 by krispn
