Out of the 8 basses I own there isnt a single `burst of any colour although I could quite fancy a blue or green burst, trad sunburst doesnt do it for me.

I've never owned a 'burst. I feel like I've missed some kind of rite of passage. I did have a car with a vinyl roof that always broke down though.

I have an Antigua Strat, which I think looks nice. Which is just as well, as it's far too heavy to pick up and play I also used have a tasty tobacco Aria LP copy. I don't think I've ever had a 'burst' bass though...

For me 3TS is sunburst , anything else is just a weird colour .

OK - even for an ACG - that is gorgeous.
I have to agree broadly with the nausea over nasty finishes. IMO 3, 2 or other combination sunburst, tobacco burst, etc - can be wonderful if it's done right, an pretty unpleasant if it's done wrong.

I never used to like sunburst, especially when people called it 'tobacco burst' (which may or may not be the same thing, I'm not sure) but I have developed GAS in recent years. More of a fan of 2-tone, than 3- tone.

Has to have a maple neck. How can you not like this?

I love sunburst and hate any finish that isn't transparent. I like to see the wood. I don't like the type of sunburst that has almost a clean stripe of red between the black and the brown though. Not keen on green burst either.
