neepheid
The only burst which I'd actively avoid is extreme examples of Gibson's "Fireburst" which when done badly looks more like "ketchupandmustardburst". No thanks

TrevorR
I don't have an in principle problem with sun bursts (my Gordon Smith electric is a Gibson style yellow/cherry red burst) but I do detest the Encore and friends two/three colour burst which looks like a wee wee coloured bass with a thin black (or black and red) line around the edge. Aaah, I see that Gibson offer it as an option too... alyctes
I have a Cimar P-bass, which I have specifically because it looks trad as a trad thing - currently awaiting a neck replacement, because the trussrod is stuck.
It's now wearing a Collins J-width neck, got from Germany via eBay. I like it; it plays nicely, sounds good, and I don't have to look at it when I'm playing
BassTractor
Got very, very bored of bursts decades ago, It got worse and worse. Low End Bee
My number 1 bass is a 3TSB precision with a rosewood board. How generic can you get? The black scratchplate just about makes it bearable. I hate the finish but it was the best player of several I tried at the time. I've had it 8 years and I hope I'll get around to liking sunburst one day. The only finish I hate more is 'natural' wood. So I've justy bought a jazz in natural of course... I should really have a look at re-finishing. PS. There's no option on the poll for all of them so I can't vote. Rich
Thanks chaps I think the burst on my Shuker is really quite subtle and I reckon the satin finish has a lot to do with this. Certainly when I put it next to my gtrist's burst Tele, mine is much more understated.
HazBeen
Love bursts, but the standard 2 or 3 tone most of all. I can't stand white basses.... we all have our pet hates, but taste is beyond debate as it is totally personal. I would hate to live in a world where we did not have variances in preference.
