Advice please UPS delivery from the States

First time I've imported something, a Warmoth neck.
So it's arrived at Manchester and the tracking now states
"receiver to pay taxes or duties on this parcel".

Sadly it doesn't tell me how to do that, where to do that, or what happens next.

In 24 hours its gone from Fife (in Washington) to Seattle, to Louisville to Philadelphia to Manchester.
I now have the feeling it's going to sit in Manchester for a fortnight

Anybody with experience of what happens next please?

I'm sure last time I did this, it was a case of paying the courier before they would complete the delivery to me.

I would just contact the courier in the first instance Karl.

You two should work in courier management

Usually you will get a card through the post with a reference number & payment instructions ( I always have,Parcelforce being the UK courier)
Pay online or over the phone & they deliver next working day.

Usually you can just ring UPS and pay over the 'phone once that message appears, rather than wait for the card.

I have always gone to the depot to pay over the counter and collect the package. I have imported a number of basses and had no issue at all with any of them. Obviously that doesn't work for deliveries from EU countries - still come 2017 when we leave .....................

Delivered, £67 vat and import duties paid in cash.
