Anyone got any experience Of Bare Knuckle pups?

Hi all, just added a Squier Jazz bass to the herd with the intention of pimping the living daylights out of it for the hell of it. I was wondering if any of you good folks out there have used Bare Knuckle jazz bass pickups and what you thought of them. I know many guitarists who rave about Bare Knuckle guitar pickups so I was wondering if the same could be said of their bass pups.

Failing that, any recommendations of jazz bass pups would be gratefully received. I want plenty of grunt! I hear good things about Nordstrand and Bartolini, but have no personal experience of them. Any info gratefully received! Thanks

I had some bare knuckle p bass pickups once, did a great job. Not heard the jazz set but they do very good quality stuff.

All the Bare Knuckle guitar pickups that I've come across have been great. I fitted some to an ex-band member's Strat (Irish tour set IIRC) and they were a huge improvement over the original MiJ pickups.

However their bass pickup range always comes across as a bit of an after-thought. If I was in the market for some replacement J-style pickups, I'd probably look at some from a company that actively promoted their bass pickups first.

For standard sizes I'd get Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders.

If you want to do some routing - a set of Nordstrand Big Singles would be awesome.
