Johnm93 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Following our (my) second gig last week, we now have a showcase booked on Sunday. This means playing for an hour - not played for that long yet!! The Moot House in Kingston does these quite regularly, apparently... Looking forward to it and nervous at the same time... Quote
synthaside Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) What time sunday i'll pop in an lurk, you could hit the moot house with a plywood Encore bass from my house. Edited May 22, 2015 by synthaside Quote
rogerstodge Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I'd come along and do some beard twitching if i had a beard. Quote
Johnm93 Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 That's not too far, then, Synthaside...! Kick off is 7:30, apparently. Quote
Johnm93 Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 Given that it wasn't the busiest venue - 12 people there - that went quite well. We actually played an hour and ten minutes as it turned out. I thought we played well, and so did the 12...! Quote
sykilz Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Just found out that on June 21st this year, we're doing an afternoon outdoor gig ( 2 1/2 hours) in the afternoon, then an evening about 5 miles away ( 3 hours). Looking forward to that.... Quote
Johnm93 Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 Oooh, your fingers...! How many tracks will you play in that time? We played 12 in a little over an hour. Quote
sykilz Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 We're doing covers, so not really a fair comparison, but each gig will probably be about 25-35 songs. And a lot of them will be repeated from the afternoon to evening, so the main problem will be staying sharp! Fingers might be a bit worn, might use a pick more than normal!! Quote
Johnm93 Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Good idea about the pick. I used one I rehearsal last week and the drummist asked me what was wrong with the bass... Quote
