warwickhunt
£729 retail at the BC so unless I'm mistaken this looks tidy at BIN £300 + shipping & taxes! It is a shame that the seller hasn't done his homework. It looks to me like a 604 which is based on the 60s Jazz, but the spiel is all about the 704. It makes his rambles a bit of a joke. bass_ferret
Yes it is a 60's copy. Still a good buy though.
thumbo
That's a bargain to be had! £300 BIN + Tax + Shipping would work out to about £400ish all together (providing the shipping isn't much more than $100). These are great basses, especially at that price.

mhuk
Tax & duty, which is about 22%, is payable on the total price inc. delivery. There's some on German Ebay for a bit more: shop on ebay.de

mhuk
google.de is also worth a search. You get the occasional "cheap" Sandbergs on ebay.de but most of they often won't ship to the UK and finding a German fleabayer who takes Paypal can be tough. The seller of #170123607705 wouldn't ship to the UK although #110146281821 takes Paypal. Edited July 6, 2007 by mhuk

The guitar was $1,100 and the shipping was $100, I wasn't charged tax on the shipping.
mhuk
Guess you were lucky
IF the consigment is liable to Customs Duty (see the "Tax Free Allowances" section below) Customs assess the total amount of Customs Duty to be paid based on the value of the goods, PLUS the transport and insurance costs to the country of destination. Other costs may be included such as tools, dies, moulds, design work, royalties, licence fees.. more... thumbo
I also saved a bit of money by getting the sender of the package to put the value of the guitar down as $800. I didn't want to put it down as much less than that though, otherwise if something did happen I would be a bit screwed.
