karlfer Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Just over £100 new back in the day. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231567949287?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Quote
discreet Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 There's not one single thing about it that I like! Apart from the fact that presumably it's flammable. Quote
BassBus Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Most inflated prices are attached to 'rare' basses. This is "extremely rare" so presumably must be worth every penny. Quote
AndyTravis Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 They've done a reissue and that's about £700. There are people who collect them as Nirvana and Rocket From The Crypt used them in the 90's. I've seen £1100 achieved for these. Quote
Bassassin Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Not too common (you see the Antoria-badged version more over here) but they typically fetch £500+. This one does look in good nick, which is unusual - it's very common to see the lower part of the headstock either missing or badly repaired, and many of these were subject to typical abuse suffered by lots of inexpensive 70s MIJs. No idea what the price for the recent reissue is, but it is a ltd edition & I doubt many - if any - made it to the UK. I suppose that might push prices of good originals up - but £1500 is bloody ridiculous. And yes - it is f***in' ghastly. Jon. Quote
JapanAxe Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 There are so many fantastic basses you could get for that money. Btw did I ever tell you why I sold my Rickenbacker? I'll get me coat... But seriously, was it 'inspired' by a Burns? Quote
Mykesbass Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I never understand why people use the phrase "if you're looking at this you will already know about it". It smacks of either laziness or their own limited knowledge. Sorry, rant over, as you were! Quote
spectoremg Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Inspired by a Burns and er WTF is that Jazz control plate all about? Quote

I frequently look at stuff I know nothing at all about, out of curiosity as much as anything else! Quote
Bassassin Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 It is indeed a horrible country & western-ised Jazz copy, nothing more. J. Quote
