danbowskill
Just a flabergasted whinge. For the ammount of components used in the WM + the same old artwork used(so that factors out) Thomans new pricing for the zvex mammoth seems a bit of a rip http://www.thomann.d...lly_mammoth.htm £287!!!!! Silly price,There must be a lot of muse fans to take advantage of out there? Edited May 23, 2015 by danbowskill
GazWills
Part of me says fair play to him, if people are prepared to pay that then why not charge it! But yeah, ridiculous when you consider how simple they are, and (IMO) that they don't sound that amazing.
zacclowes
Clones are easy to find. Or buy one second hand and you won't loose much money if you want to sell it on eventually
danbowskill
i'm not after buying 1. But You would have thought with the amount of clones and kits around the original would come down to compete? I know they shouldn't have to with folks copying their design, but I would be in their shoes?I also agree, without a blend I'm not a huge fan of the sound....gets lost in a mix Edited May 25, 2015 by danbowskill
ChunkyMunky
A clone kit would cost how much? Yeah, I'd rather not. I'd rather get a clone and cover it in shagpile.
Bassnut62
.....without a blend I'm not a huge fan of the sound....gets lost in a mix
Run it after a decent compressor and it is a thing of great beauty and stays very present in the mix; and of course only use it with a passive bass. Don't know how close or good the clones are though......
