I thought this really was a "keeper" but something else has come up on here that I need more, so......with great regret.....up for sale is my stunning 100% stock 1972 Fender Precision Bass, with the original case and the rare 'A' profile neck. Very light at 8.4lbs.

It's in wonderful condition and looking at the condition of the frets, it seems to have hardly been played. As you'll see in the pics, it has two black marks on the body rear, which I suspect have been caused by years of storage on top of a strap or guitar lead.

To me, it looks like it was bought in 1972, played for a couple of months then stored away for 42 years until last year when I bought this from Si. The neck and headstock are still that "white" blond maple colour that it looks like from new. When I first got it, it felt and looked to me like a new bass that I had just picked up from GAK! But it's a 1972 P Bass!

The 'A' neck is very very comfortable. The tortoiseshell scratchplate has a real deep burgundy colour that the newer "modern" scratchplates just cannot match.

A few very minor scratches and a minor blemish on the back of the neck that I have tried to capture in one of the pics.

Note: A couple of pics show the Ernie Ball straplocks but so you know, the original Fender straplocks have been refitted.

Given the value of this, I am wary of posting/courier but obviously up for however the buyer wants to receive this beauty. I am based in Sussex so a no obligation visit here is no problem or I can drive within reasonable distance to meet up. Or if the seller insists I can courier/post with adequate insurance.

NO TRADES PLEASE - I HAVE ENOUGH BASSES HERE :0)

I'll let the pictures do the talking.... (I can supply high resolution images if required)
