yorks5stringer Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 For reasons I don't need to go into on here, is it possible/safe to use a powered desk if you use powered speakers? I have powered speakers and a passive desk myself and know that combination works....! Quote
AndyTravis Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Powered desks usually have a non powered l/r out so you can run it as if it were simply a mixer. Quote

Guest bassman7755 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Can actually be be a good combination because some desks will allow you use to on board amp to power monitors. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Turned out the guy didn't really understand the term "Powered". He had a "Powered" desk in that it was "powered by electricity" but did not have an internal amp section. He did however have "Powered" speakers which did have an internal amp but it seems either combination will work with a powered desk. Quote
