michele Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Up for sale is my Fodera Matt Garrison Standard It’s #7 and I’m the original owner Just in case you’re not familiar with the bass, please, don’t let the word “standard” fool you as this is in fact an Elite (neck-through) model: think at it as a Custom with locked-in specs. The main difference between this and the other members of the Fodera Standards family are: three piece maple neck (as opposed to one piece) angled headstock custom shop Pope preamp (as opposed to standard preamp) Rest of the specs are: 33" scale 5 strings (E-C), 17.5mm bridge spacing 26 small frets box-elder burl top, walnut body with alder tone block (neck through) three piece maple neck with pau ferro fingerboard Fodera/Duncans Dual coil pickups, Pope custom shop 3-band preamp Drop D-tuner Weight 9.8 lbs As a couple of small dings in the lower part of the body but nothing major. Comes with the original Fodera hardshell case, papers, tools and even in the same cardbox it came with. Price is 5200 GBP (7300 EUR) and bass is FOR SALE ONLY. Please NO TRADE OFFERS as the only reason I'm sellin this is to finance a 6 strings Fodera. Shipping via FedEx is included to many European destinations (Yes.. UK is one of them) but buyer pays for insurance if he wants to include it. Only payment method is wire transfer. No Paypal. Bass will ship the same day money will show into my account and I'll provide tracking number. Buy with confidence: I just have one feedback on this forum but many on talkbass and they all speak for me. I can privately provide other references to the buyer. Dazed Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I really really shouldn't be in here looking at this....
michele Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015
I really really shouldn't be in here looking at this....
... but, since you are here, have a look at the beautiful chocolatey striped pau ferro fingerboard, which - as for Fodera suggestion - have been regulary treated with mineral oil every 6 months. Amazing wood grain..
No lust in Jazz Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015
These really are stunning basses. Si
The string spacing rules me out, perhaps you need a back-up...?
Sibob Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I have to say, I went from 19mm 4strings, and an 18mm 5 string, to the 17.5mm of the MGS with no issues. It seems to be a string spacing that lends it's itself to easy playing without being too tight or alien! I had a 16.5 ACG before the MGS and that was a bit tight for me. Anyway, good luck with the sale. Si
auvergne81 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I played once this model, with BEADG strings, it was a pleasure to play, very easy bass. And in 33" scale, your fingers are running on the fretboard. SO good luck with your sale.
viss1700 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Is it possible to adjust the string spacing at the bridge to 19 mm? Thx
michele Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) No, it's adjustable but not to that point... I'd say you cound range between 17 and 18 mm. However, it's a very comfortable string spacing.
Is it possible to adjust the string spacing at the bridge to 19 mm? Lally Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 does it go lower than 17.5mm? just wondering, the janek gwizdala one is 16.5 i think
michele Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Yes it could go low to 17 and up to 18. Janek bridge is 16.5 but it's an Hipshot.
