2007 24" iMac 2.8 ghz - SOLD
£200

Recommended Posts

I'm selling my mid 2007, 24" iMac which is in almost mint condition.

Unknown to me at the time of purchase back in November 2007, the screen has a yellow tinge and by the time I realised, it was too late to have it fixed under warranty. The yellow tinge does not affect the actual performance of the iMac and unless you intend on using this for design purposes, it's not that bad - see the photo of the screen at boot up. I've edited many photos on it & never realised there was a tint!

Other than the screen issue, the unit is in mint condition, with no scratches or defects and still works as well as it did the day I bought it.

I have wiped the hard drive and installed the original Tiger operating system, but the disk for Leopard is included with this device. Before I wiped it, I had it running Mavericks and did slow it down, however this is probably because it only has 2GB of RAM - upgrading the RAM would improve this considerably.

Specification:

Apple iMac 24-Inch (mid 2007)
1920x1200 Native Resolution
Core 2 Extreme 2.8GHz
500GB HDD SATA (3Gb/s)
Radeon HD 2600 PRO Video Card
2GB 667MHz PC2-5300 DDR2
iMac 7.1
EMC Number 2134
Apple 8X DL Superdrive
Apple Aluminium Keyboard
Cat ate the mouse, so you'll need to buy your own.

Still a pretty decent spec today & has no problems running Reaper or most other music software.
If you're looking for a good entry into a low cost home recording set up, You won't be disappointed.
GarageBand comes free with OSX as standard & if you can't afford an audio interface, you can simply make a cable with 6.4mm mono Jack wired to one side of a 3.5mm stereo jack & plug straight into the Mac. This actually gave me a better quality than using an Alesis interface.

I can post for @ £20.

If you click on either of those pics, it'll take you to my Flickr page where the majority of the pics were edited on that very iMac (from "Sun at my fingertips" & earlier).

Here's one of my fave tracks that I made on it with Garageband & my bass.

Any questions, just ask.

Do you have one of those sucker type phone holders in your car?

If so, sucker it onto the screen and gently pull. The "glass" is held on by magnets around the edges. Once you've go it off, I imagine you'll be able to easily clean the inside of the glass with a bit of Mr Muscle window cleaner. That is almost certainly where the tinge is hiding. I had a similar thing happen on my iMac. There are videos on youtube showing the fix.

Excellent. It was a pleasure & a good reason to get out for a wee drive. :)

We ended up in Nando's. Hope you got out for something too.
