miles'tone
Wow! Thank you both for those vids! I've never really been into Jack Bruce but I now realise that I've completely misunderstood him all these years. What a pedigree.. Pro at 15 etc... Sh**! Very informative hour just spent there. Wow! 👍

louisthebass
Jack Bruce was a great bassist - Cream were a band I listened to when I had been playing a while. Was lucky enough to see him play at the 2nd Bass Centre Weekend at City of London Poly in 1988 - he did a cracking version of "Politician" with (I think) his nephew on guitar and Neal Wilkinson on drums. One of the greats, it's sad that he's no longer with us but his music lives on.

Bassman Sam
Thanks for the vids, I've not seen the one with Gary Moore before. Excellent. I've been a fan of Jack Bruce since the Cream days, he was such a talent.

Scotland's in The West, isn't it..? As opposed to The East, I mean.

If you divide the planet into Oriental and Occidental, Scotland's Occidental, i.e. in The West.

White Cloud
Good stuff folks! It always struck me that Jack was an enormously talented yet unusual fretless player. He predominantly played unlined fretless yet under scrutiny his intonation was often very precise...and he avoided many of the more common fretless techniques. There was something special about both of his expressive musical voices...
KevB
He started off on cello and then DB so that probably helped enormously with intonation.
