landwomble
Hi all. Picking up an Eden 115 cab next week. I'd like to be able to turn down/off the tweeter so was thinking of fitting a pot to do this. Anyone have any suggestions on type of potentiometer?
landwomble
Looks like I need an l-pad. Any suggestions on wattage? Will be feeding the 8 ohm cab with a 250w amp. Is 100w overkill?
MoonBassAlpha
I use the treble control on my amp.
landwomble
I could do that I guess but this is going to be a second extension cab and I just want to be able to control tweeter volume. Am leaning towards a 100w l-pad at the moment...
mcnach
I use the treble control on my amp.
it can be useful, but it rarely has the same effect. Tweeter attenuators have their place.
Count Bassy
Depends what the tweeter is. Piezo tweeters, because of the incredibly high impedance, are easy to control with a pot and a limiting resistor. If its a coil driven tweeter at 8 Ohms or so then yes, you need an I-pad.
