Dropzone Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 So the drummer forgot to do up the catches on the trailer and my "spare" bass ended up falling out and getting run over. So I am looking for something new. I am playing metal and considering a Traben, does anyone have an opinion on these. Also saw a BBNE for sale at a budget I can afford (although it has gone now) is it worth holding on for one of these? Thanks Mike Quote
4-string-thing Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I'd be asking the drummer how much HE can afford.... Quote
r16ktx Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Shameless plug... Is semi-budget somewhere from here; http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262758-2009-warwick-rockbass-streamer-std-5/ To here; http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262753-2013-spector-mike-kroeger-signature/ ? :-) Quote
stuckinthepod Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Surprised you had time to write. I'd still be kicking the lifeless drummers corpse at this point. Quote
Damonjames Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I'd be all over that mike Kroeger dig personally! Quote
ribbetingfrog Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I had a Traben Array Obsession. Loved it. Really well made, sounded good and looked stunning. Sold it to my mate who uses it as his main gigging bass. Budget wise, I recently had a Yamaha rbx370 pass ing through, top quality bass for sub £100, can't go wrong. Quote
The Admiral Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I don't know what your budget is, but I'll second the Yamaha love, and suggest you'll struggle to do better for the money than this in the marketplace section of BC. Don't know the seller, but it looks like a huge amount of bass for the cash : http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262985-yamaha-bb1024x-vintage-white/page__pid__2785125#entry2785125 Or for a bit less cash - a nice vintage option : http://basschat.co.uk/topic/254037-yamaha-bb-1500a-early-90s-last-price-drop-now-l330/page__pid__2667001#entry2667001 Or this for £270, albeit short scale : http://basschat.co.uk/topic/262709-yamaha-bb-7s/page__pid__2781710#entry2781710 Good enough for Michael Anthony to play Yamaha with Van Halen! yorick Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Have a look at the Ibanez SR300. About £250 new. Sound and feel great. Good for metal too. Quote
