Mykesbass Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Anyone do this old Blues song? If so, is there a middle 8, or, after the intro does it just keep repeating? It's odd, I can hear one in my head but can't find a version with it in! Thanks, Mike Quote
FinnDave Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) There are so many versions of this around that is difficult to pick any of them as the definitive one. We've played it a few times, but not for a while. We tend to change things around in most songs we play, so added guitar and harp solos. Good song, must remind the band to play it again. Oh well, in the best tradition of the song, perhaps we should put one in! Quote
Bloodaxe Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Just queued up versions by Freddie King (3), Sam Cooke, Bobby Bland & Jimmy Witherspoon (2) & they all just cycle through the verse structure. Similar tunes that **do** have a bridge are 'Need Your Love So Bad' and 'Jumping at Shadows' Quote

We rehearsed it last night and put some extra chord changes in under the guitar solos, worked really nicely. Quote
peteb Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I think that it is perfectly legitimate to reinterpret classics as you see fit, so if you hear a middle 8 in there you should try it out and see if the new arrangement works! Quote
