And I got Rallentendo wrong, though in hindsight I shouldn't have, given that I do know all the others, so should have identified the one correct option. D'oh. I knew it was diminished but my english reading skills weren't obviously up to scratch as I clicked the wrong answer. Misjudgement on my part. Gutted. neepheid Posted June 3, 2015 Share Posted June 3, 2015 I read notes at a rate of one note every 3ish seconds (yes, I recite every time in my head the appropriate amount of Every Good Boy or FACE or All Cows Eat Grass or (my favourite) Greedy Buggers Deserve F All). tauzero Posted June 3, 2015 Share Posted June 3, 2015 9, although having to work out what every note was from middle C means I'm rather slow on note recognition and I've never encountered the alto clef before (otherwise I'd have crept into double figures). I'll admit to having a head start on the intervals between clefs too as the music department I went to used a similar exercise to work out the code for the keypad to enter! uncle psychosis Posted June 3, 2015 Share Posted June 3, 2015 Flute is my first instrument and I used to play a lot of jazz on it so my sight reading (on treble clef) and music theory is really good. My problem is that I've never bothered to learn bass clef, and I've never played bass in a band that required me to read. So from a bass point of view my reading is awful.
