If I was interested in this I'd just go along and not mention my age. And if they asked me I'd just say 'I have a playing age of 29'. It's what us thesps do all the time!

I sent a neo soul band wanting a bassist a recording of me playing along to their you tube clip without revealing my age. They replied saying that my playing was 'sick'. I then revealed my age and received no reply. I can only assume that they assumed I was dead at my revealed age!

It's a shame it's like this but I was the same when I was starting out.

Middle age quality musicians should just get their own sh*t together play some great music. There's enough of us about it seems. :-)
