NoirBass Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) Never heard of this, but on closer inspection it is legit - just a very rare custom colour. Can anyone confirm? dannybuoy Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 All I can say is, I think there's a very good reason why it's so rare! Quote
BassBus Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 And here's how to do it with tints. http://youtu.be/q01dQ_I7h3A Quote
RhysP Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Was the name "Pieceofshitoburst" already taken then? Quote
Vinny Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I rather like it, but I do play a pink daisy, so what do I know? Quote
bakerster135 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Looks like it's been dipped in a Rolo yogurt. Quote
AndyTravis Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 There's a blue and white version too... All around 83/84. Quote
drTStingray Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015
Was the name "Pieceofshitoburst" already taken then?
The first part of your suggestion is a reasonable description of how 80s Fenders were viewed by many in that keyboard laden era. Quote
PlungerModerno Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I love it. It's nice and jazzy (not like the bass . . . like the often eccentric musical genre!). Reminds me of a racecar. I don't love the weight 11lbs is borderline boat anchor in my book. Too heavy for a 4 . . . especially at that price. Quote
Bassassin Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I like the finish. The white plate looks cheapo on that, though. What's interesting is that I didn't know this was a Fender finish - but I'm familiar with seeing this idea used on various Corts from the same era: Really like the 3 tone PRS style. Jon. Quote
alyctes Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I have a Hohner like that. Stuck trussrod, I should bin it. Quote
BobVbass Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) I don't know whether I like it or not. I definitely don't like the gap between the neck and body though! They should have spent less time sodding about in the paint shop and more time training the 3 year old with the router! Edited June 7, 2015 by BobVbass Quote
