zacclowes Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Got this yesterday Fully aluminium bass in a travis bean tb1000 body shape. Black anodised body and humbuckers. Sounds awesome through my little at home amp. Can't wait to play it through my meatsmoke Quote
alittlebitrobot Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 wow. Seriously, how metallic does it sound? Is it like a resonator guitar kind of sound or just normal? I'm a bit of a tonewood sceptic so I'm curious about this kind of thing. Quote
bartelby Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 *drools* I saw them post this on facebook! Pretty much exactly what I'd order. Quote
Graham Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I shared that on Facebook the other day, love it I'd love to have one of these one day, looking forward to seeing Jon Davis play one of their guitars tomorrow night. Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I follow this lot on fb. It looks obscenely good, congrats! Are these the ones the guy from Torche plays? Quote
zacclowes Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Hey everyone. Thanks for the nice comments. There are some extra overtones from the bass. I'm not sure it's from the hollow body because on these instruments the neck goes through solid to the bridge like a neck through bass. The pickups and the bridge are bolted to the neck thro part and it's a really solid set up. This gives a really fast note attack and seems all the string energy goes into sound. The spectrum of sound you can hear ringing out is amazing really full from the low bass fundemental to super high harmonics and pick noise. Sounds kind of like a jazz bass or Rick on steroids It wasn't cheap. Steve brooks from torche plays an egc guitar Edited June 10, 2015 by zacclowes Quote
