I'm without doubt a huge fan of the cello, i'd love to have learned to play.

Anyway, this is a new album by one of my tutors at university, there's some truly beautiful playing on it. It also features ebowed guitar on some tracks.

I love the idea of playing the cello and had a look at buying one a few months back. After a bit of research and a look around, it started to look like getting something playable was going to be prohibitively expensive considering I've never played a note on one before...

We're lucky as bassists being able to pick up a perfectly serviceable instrument for a couple of hundred quid!

I adore my Cello, 'tis a thing of beauty. Sadly don't get to play it often enough, but that will be remedied once the mobile rehearsal studio is ready

Same scale length as a bass guitar don't y' know ;)

I loved mine. Bought one on a whim and taught myself years ago. So much fun to play and one of THE most beautiful sounding instruments in my opinion. Sadly, circumstances changed and had to move it on though. If I had the money and space I'd happily adopt another one.

We have two cellists in our band. Love the sound of them although never had a try at playing one.
There again, as I'm dangerous on fret less bass I somehow can't see it being a good idea.....

They make a lovely noise, at least when I'm not playing them :D

Lol..... Whenever I hear 'Noise' mentioned, it always reminds me of this quote.

"The English may not like music, but they absolutely love the noise it makes"

Sir Thomas Beecham.
