tauzero
My Buzzard BO uses the 2-piece bridge/tailpiece. I didn't like the Rotosound nickels (I think) that were on it and put a set of Elites on. However, they didn't fit into the tailpiece very well, the E and especially the B taking a bit of wedging into place and not reassuring me as to how well they'll stay there. So has anyone else had this problem, and what strings have you found that will fit in happily?
verb
This has come up a few times on the Warwick forum, I think people use tapered strings, file the string slots out or compress the string with a vice or hammer to get it to fit.
Truckstop
Have a look at LaBella Super Steps. Will work perfectly! Hopefully you'll like the tone, not as bright as Elites.
morsefull
Just squeeze the windings with some pliers. It works great on my 5 string warwicks.
jimbobothy
I had an issue a few weeks ago, bought 3 sets of the same string and 1 fitted. Of the E strings: 1 needed 'encouraging' to fit and this broke after 3 mins and the last one didn't fit and I didn't want to break it! Sent the two iffy ones back and hopefully be getting some replacements! Edited June 14, 2015 by jimbobothy
Delberthot
only ever had a problem with a Thumb NT5 in that the tuner is incredibly close to the nut so I had to get an Elites B String that tapered as soon as it went over the nut
tauzero
Thanks all, I think I'll start with minor violence with pliers and work up from there.
