Digidesign RM1 Monitors Broken

A friend of mine has offered me some monitors for free if I can get them repaired. He tells me that he can't send them back to Digidesign since they dont want to know.

The problem is that both of them are buzzing quite badly, one of them is also producing a fuzzy low octave. He thinks it's a fairly common issue, but he's got new monitors so they just sit lying about.

Does anyone here think they could fix them? If so, I would pay for their time.

Thanks bud! It may ultimately prove useful, I think (if what my mate tells me is correct) that Digidesign aren't selling replacement drivers but I assume I can just put anything that fits in there??
