Theme from World At War. Walked on stage to this at one gig and proceeeded to play the most agressive set I've ever done.

Yes! It still sends shivers down my spine when I hear it even to this day!

Some more...

The theme from White Horses.

The soundtracks from Grizzly Man by Richard Thompson and Pretty much anything from The Wicker Man soundtrack, except the one they sing whilst dancing around the maypole, that's bobbins!

Film Composer James Horner was killed in an accident yesterday.
Fitting to put one of his themes in this thread.

Lowdown, I had forgotten the Parkinson Show theme, we used to play that as an "off" at the end of each set!

Did your band play some of the pub and club gigs in S/E, East London by any chance?

Did anyone else listen to Friday Night Is Music Night on Radio 2 the other, errm, night? Celebrating 80 years of television, it was wall to wall TV themes all played beautifully by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Highlights for me were Grandstand, Hill Street Blues and Inspector Morse, but it was all superb. And I'd never noticed before that the Are You Being Served? theme had such a cool bassline!
It's available on the iPlayer, highly recommended.

Not a great film, not even a great Bond film, but the score to On Her Majesty's Secret Service makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Likewise, the score from Dances With Wolves. Both the work of the brilliant John Barry; love those strings.

Halloween
The Thing
The Fog
Prince of Darkness
Christine and several others...

Fretless bassist on Bergerac was Dill Katz - one of those bits of trivia you pick up along the way :-)

Cracking (old) thread with some great tunes. How about -

Flambards, composed by David Fanshawe. I heard him talking about it on the radio once, the second half of the tune is the first half upside down.

Learn something everyday. I thought it was 'Mo Foster'.

Another one of my favourite Film Themes, 'Exodus'.
The video says 'Henry Mancini', but the composer is Ernest Gold.
Pretty rousing and dramatic.
