Handwired Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) This bass plays and sounds as good as any bass I've owned. It's in great shape for a thirty year old instrument with just minor surface marks and the odd very small chip. The frets are are in very good order and the neck's spot on. Sound wise I'd call it plummy with a bit of zing. Hard to find these days, these American made Peavey's are a bit of a secret weapon. Priced to sell. Sharkfinger Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Yah, that look nice! I like the pup position, sitting somewhere between a J and P but not quite as far back as a MM, kind of what Fender are now doing with their Cabronita. Any more details on it, such as weight, nut width, etc?
Handwired Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 She weighs around 10lbs. The nut measures 43mm neck width, with the strings at a spacing of 35mm between E and G. The pickup positioning is slightly further back than that of a Precision.
alyctes Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Nut's too wide for me. Kodiakblair's probably got one already
chrismuzz Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 My God there are some amazing Peavey basses coming out of the woodwork lately! Thankfully theres nowhere to rest my thumb where I'd normally play so I won't be tempted

kodiakblair Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015
Kodiakblair's probably got one already
I certainly have Black and maple just like this, with the same tuners so I'd say they were the original ones. Lovely bass you got there Handwired. GLWTS
FlatEric Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Very nice indeed!! Super Ferrite pick-up is a surprise to most who have had a go on one. Tempted but mustn't!!
Handwired Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 I could supply a used SKB hard case for £40 to post it in, if that helps.
