mcnach
The pickup itself has a label "ABP-1". And some people say it is Tonerider OEM. In any case stock PU is very decent vintage sounding pickup.
"PBA-1" is the label. (maybe ABP is the left handed version :-p) The Toneraiders have waxed cloth cables... it's hard to say for certain. I replaced the pickup on mine, but the original is not bad at all. I just like the Entwistle more: it's less of a traditional sound, so if you want classic P the Entwistle neodymium pickup would not be a good choice, but it was what I wanted and the stock pickup would indeed be a better choice. This bass doesn't stop to amaze me... it feels and plays so well! Edited September 24, 2015 by mcnach
discreet
You have to love vintage white, black and maple. You made the right choice there! Enjoy.
vaesto
Yes. Checked it again and the label on PU is PBA1-BK.
Conan
Yes. Checked it again and the label on PU is PBA1-BK.
But do we know who makes the pickup? Despite quite a lot of searching I've drawn a blank so far...
vaesto
Nope. Honestly, I don't care. Guess it is made in China the same way as the bass itself.
SH73
I've had this bass for nearly three months and I am blown away with the sound especially when playing IM songs. It still has the strings it came with, but may change tgem and put Rotos on.
