spongebob
I love my Mono GS1 strap, but whenever I'm gigging and playing for a long period, it always slips. What is mean is I set it to my own playing position, length wise, but it always slips back to it's longest length, so I constantly have to take the bass off and reset it the right length! Is there a way of locking these into a preferred position/length?
ambient
I've tried a these a couple of times. They're great looking straps, but in my opinion badly thought out. Way, way too long, even the shortest ones. They're also quite slippery on your shoulder.
spongebob
I've got the short one....but with my basses, the longest position it slips into is just a fraction too much!
LayDownThaFunk
I've got one and I found putting a rubber band there acts as a stopper.
spongebob
I've got one and I found putting a rubber band there acts as a stopper.
Nice one! I've got a gig this afternoon, so I'll give that a try. It's a real design fault - I've had both the short and long versions, and they've all done it. When the long one did I, I used to end up like that guy from Metallica with it around my knees....!
ezbass
I decided on my preferred length and then put a couple of stitches at the edge by the buckle to stop said slippage. However, at the price they are this should not be necessary.

spongebob
That's the one, Plunger! Another obvious Mono strap malfunction - it probably started off as high as Mark King earlier in the gig..... fretmeister
I swapped to the Neotech Mega Bass strap because of this. More comfy too.
Lozz196
Tis funny, I`ve got the long Mono GS1 and even on its longest setting I find it`s only just the right length.
I just acquired one of these in a swap deal. Really liking it so far. Have worn my new Sandberg, which isn't a feather weight, for two gigs and a rehearsal this weekend; so about 9 hours. I've not had a tired back or shoulder at all. No way I could have done that with my old leather strap.
