madshadows Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Such a shame, an amazing bass player, bloody cancer!, RIP. John Quote
ezbass Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Very, very sad news. I was playing Owner of a Lonely Heart live on my new Rick 4003s for the first time last night and loving his fills. Gutted. Quote
TheGreek Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Another great musician stolen away from us...regards to his family.. Quote
ezbass Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 The world is a slightly less better place with his passing, but we have been lucky enough to have been around during his lifetime, so we must take something from that too. This seems fitting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQiTKZGp-10 Quote
Mikkoantt Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 This is sad day for all of us. RIP Chris. You gave us lot. Quote
Urban Bassman Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Like so many of us here he was the one who got me listening to the bass and what it can do. A sad loss indeed. Quote
Kevin Dean Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) RIP Chris . I'll always remember Jon standing in between Chris & I & saying "are all bass players big bastards ?" We wouldn't have a lot of bass players we have today if it wasn't for him . Edited June 29, 2015 by Kevin Dean Quote
RhysP Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Very sad news. A massive influence on me for many years. RIP Chris. Quote
bigd1 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I feel YES music is the thing I have grown up with, in particular Chris Squires bass playing. Chris is the main reason I play bass today. From the first time I listened to Fragile on the day of it's release, I wanted to play like Chris. a massive influence on so many of us low enders. Thoughts and love to his family, 67 is far to young for anybody to be taken from this world, RIP Chris Squire. Quote
Mr Arkadin Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I have no words right now, truly saddening news. Quote
spongebob Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Just at a gig and checking BC. Thought I'd misread this - I'm devastated. Totally shocking, what a huge loss. I'm about to gig my Ricky 4003S - a bass I wouldn't even have in my hands if it weren't for Chris. Quote
